brad's birthday
top: anthropologie, shorts: gap, belt: vintage, sunglasses: valentino
We celebrated Brad's birthday at the Nylo Hotel with a great group of our friends. Regretfully, it slipped my mind to take pictures except for right at the beginning and right at the end. We commandeered a large table/corner of the patio and spent the evening mingling with friends in honor of the birthday boy.
I wore a top from anthropologie that reminds me of batman (I'm not quite sure why, maybe because of his mask/helmet or the buildings of Gotham???) with some pink checkered gap shorts that I think are way too cute for their own good.

sandstone skirt
skirt: j. crew, top: theory, shoes: miu miu, sunglasses: celine
I am so into this miniskirt for many reasons. It's neutral colors and semi-neutral hemline make it easy to wear with almost anything. I can dress it up or down, and it's always flattering. Plus it reminds me of sandstone, or some other rock, I think because of the striations/stripes, although my college professor of geology (Dr. Suresh) would surely beg to differ. I paired it with a simple white Theory tank top and topped it off with my Miu-Miu school girl mary janes. Their deep rust/burgundy color is awesome and so unique and a little old-timey, which I love.

coffee + chiweenie
dress: kensie, lipstick: laura mercier in tea rose
Brad, Hugo and I stopped by Ascension Coffee Shop the other day for…coffee. Mr. Fancy ordered an intricate latte, and I ordered my summer go-to: iced coffee. I think iced coffee is almost everybody's summer go-to, but I really become quite addicted to the point where it seems unnatural. It all goes back to my New York City days where Dunkin Donuts ruled the streets. I used to run (mostly walk) on the Westside Highway before work, and on my walk back to the apartment I would stop in Dunkin Donuts and get an iced coffee and 2 munchkins. You just can't beat that.
I was in the city a few weeks ago and overloaded on Dunkin Donuts and Murray's Bagels iced coffee. It was magic. And so is Ascension with your husband and chiweenie babe.

weekday nylo date
top: see by chloe
Brad and I finally went to the Nylo Hotel Southside. We ended up having his birthday get together on the roof top a few weeks later, but of course needed to do re-con to make sure it was hip enough for the birthday boy.
We had such an enjoyable time on our first visit. It was like we had been transported to a place not near Dallas, even though our majestic view was...of Dallas. The weather was perfect, the drinks were perfect, the tunes were perfect, the snacks were perfect...and so is my hubby. We had a "perfect" experience. But honestly, we did.
