When we arrived in London, for what was supposed to be 3 days, we were pleasantly surprised by the Christmas cheer. Neither of us had expected London to be decorated for Christmas, which was a little silly on our end, but the Christmas spirit ended up making our London honeymoon that much more charming. We felt like we were in a british holiday movie, and I never wanted it to end.
These pictures reflect our evening walk the first night in the city. We ended up joining the evening commute crowd along Oxford and Regent streets to Picadilly circus. It fondly reminded me of my evening commutes in New York, and we enjoyed catching snippets of after work conversations in British accents. Emily, our friend's sister, lives in London and sent us a list of her recommended activities, like walking along the south side of the Thames. We ended our evening by taking the tube to the London Bridge and walking along the south side of the Thames towards the London Eye and Big Ben. It was such a peaceful and pleasant (and windchill-y) nighttime walk, and London was magic with the dark, liquid Thames and the bright city lights .
