The second to last full day of our honeymoon we spent in London. We met up with our friend's sister for brunch/lunch, stopped by the Sherlock Holmes museum, lazily walked through Regent's Park so we had to run-walk to Primrose Hill in time to catch the sunset, accidentally stumbled upon a Christmas celebration with carolers and festive booths on the main street in Primrose Hill, and finished our day at Hillsong. It was divine. Also, may I just note that the carolers were amahzing. I supremely felt like we were in Love Actually as we looked on at a conductor leading his rag-tag group of singers with an iPod mix accompaniment, while Brad and I shared a mulled wine from the local sushi restaurant. That serendipitous occasion was the weirdest and the best.
The last day of our trip, we hopped on a train headed to Cambridge. We were both dying to take a day trip and had debated between Cambridge and Oxford. Cambridge won that small battle, mainly because I think it was closer to the city (not sure if that's correct) and because we heard it was easier to walk into and around town once there. We absolutely adored it. Some of our highlights were:
1. Stopping at Fitzbillies for their signature treat, a chelsea bun, along with a scone and some tea.
2. Wandering through narrow cobble stone streets.
3. Taking pictures in front of churches.
4. Reminiscing about Brad's high school days as he visited Cambridge for a choir trip his senior year.
5. Reenacting one of the dumbest pictures of Brad I have ever seen (he has a lot of them) in the square at King's College.
6. Attending evensong at King's College and sneaking a picture (of the ceiling) just because they instructed me not to.
7. Splitting a sandwich and tea at Harriet's Tea Room. More eating.
8. Walking and walking and walking.
9. Enjoying, quite possibly, our favorite meal of the trip in a cozy corner booth of a "typical" British pub. Brad had chicken pot pie, and I had the biggest, juiciest, blue-cheesiest burger of my life. We were fat, dumb and happy on our train ride back to London that night.
10. Tennis Court Road. Need I say more?
