We took a family vacation to Southampton early this June. It was amazing. Southampton and East Hampton were gorgeous and idyllic, and we really enjoyed our time there.
I loved my morning/mid-afternoon strolls on Cooper's Beach, discovering the downtown and main street area, eating/drinking at the Southampton Publick House, popping into St. Ambroeus for desserts and treats, sipping on rose and so much more that will be featured in my Southampton Part 2 post.
I certainly cannot wait to go back and wish that I could have spent the entire summer enjoying the Southampton life. Sigh.

dress: barney's new york, sandals: prada
I love this Barney's New York dress for it's modest simplicity. The hemline is probably not supposed to be adjustable, but for some reason it's possible, and I take full advantage of it. I can make this dress long or short depending on the outing, and I love how it looks either with or without jewelry. This dress is so simple that it's perfect.

dress: lucca couture, shoes: anthropologie, sunglasses: celine
This dress is perfect for road trips. It's basically a big black sack with some ruffles and carefully placed woven festive designs to increase it's "glam factor", if you could even call this dress "glam". Not only is it uber comfortable (think: unrestricted, free like a million birds, enough fabric to curl your legs into for warmth, etc), but it's also just barely cute enough to wear out once you have reached your final destination. Our final destination for this road trip was Austin, so the tex-mex/hippie vibe of this dress makes it totally "ok" and Austin appropriate. Ah…a dress both functional and fashionable, but moreso functional.
